The Corpus Christi Black Chamber of Commerce is proud to sponsor several programs throughout the year to increase community awareness, be supportive of community and business needs, and to enhance business partnerships. These are the annual programs:
Annual Women's Program: Sisters on a Saturday
This event kicks off one of our major fundraisers, usually held in April each year. This event primarily focuses on women’s health issues, business development, and entrepreneurship. Our audience consists of business and professional women, young and aspiring entrepreneurs, college and university students-and even a few daring men. Our motto-’Soaring To New Heights’ plays a large part in our selection of a keynote speaker. The Speaker’s presentation covers her professional ‘struggles to triumphs’ as an African American, and she shares her expertise on building self confidence, self esteem, and business careers, especially focusing on the young entrepreneurs and college and university students. The public is invited.
Annual Community Service event during Juneteenth. The Corpus Christi Black Chamber is a proud sponsor of this 10 day historical event, supporting the Juneteenth Coalition. The Juneteenth Coalition sponsors an awards banquet honoring local African American high school graduates. The public is invited.
Annual Show Biz & Mixer. This is an annual Community Business Networking event is held in August each year. This event gives small businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs the opportunity to ‘showcase’ their products, wares, and services. The public is invited.
Annual Business Awards Banquet & Celebration. This is a major fundraiser held in November each year. This event primarily focuses on business and economic development, and the recognition of African American business owners, business leaders, plus young and aspiring entrepreneurs. Our audience consists of business and professionals, young and aspiring entrepreneurs, college and university students-and the community at large. The Speaker’s presentation covers his/her professional ‘struggles to triumphs’ as an African American, as it relates to our motto "Soaring to New Heights" along with sharing his/her expertise on business careers, focusing on and engaging the young entrepreneurs and college and university students. The public is invited.
