About Our Events

The Corpus Christi Black Chamber of Commerce is proud to sponsor several signature programs throughout the year to increase economic empowerment in the local community, to bring awareness of black businesses, to be supportive of community business needs, and to enhance business partnerships. These are some of the highlighted public programs:

Annual L.E.A.D  Conference  with  Sisters on a Saturday and Brothers on a Saturday

This is an annual business development conference usually held in March/April each year.  This event primarily focuses on business development, and entrepreneurship.  Our audience consists of business and professional women, young and aspiring entrepreneurs, college and university students.  Our motto-’Soaring To New Heights’ plays a large part in our selection of  workshop speakers and a keynote speaker.  The public is invited.

Chamber events  during Juneteenth.  The Corpus Christi Black Chamber of Commerce is a proud sponsor of this 10 day historical celebration supporting the Juneteenth Holiday (June 19).   A Juneteenth Coalition  of organizations sponsors  ten days of events  and selects one day to honor local African American high school graduates and youth.  The public is invited.

Annual Show Biz & Mixer. This is an annual community business networking event  held  each year.  This event gives our  small business members  and aspiring entrepreneurs the opportunity to ‘showcase’ their products and services.  The public is invited.

Annual Business Awards Banquet & Celebration.  This  is our major fundraiser held in November each year.  This event primarily focuses on business and economic development, and the recognition of African American business owners, business leaders, plus young and aspiring entrepreneurs.  Our audience consists of business and professionals, young and aspiring entrepreneurs, college and university students-and the community at large.  The Speaker’s presentation covers his/her professional ‘struggles to triumphs’ as an African American, as it relates to our motto "Soaring to New Heights" along with sharing his/her expertise on business careers, focusing on and engaging the young entrepreneurs and college and university students.  The public is invited.
